POLICY AND REGULATIONS (as of March 31, 2013)

Location
All WSET courses will be held at Langara College, 100 W 49th Ave, Vancouver or an alternative venue which students will be informed of prior to the seminar.

Tasting seminars will be held at various venues around Vancouver and the Lower Mainland and will be announced in advance.

Requirements

    • Participants of our programs involving the use and consumption of alcohol must be at least 19 years of age.
    • Arrangements may be made for participants under the age of 19 only for certain WSET courses.
    • Out of courtesy towards fellow participants, please avoid wearing strong perfumes, colognes or deodorants which interfere with the ability to smell and taste properly.

Taxes
Applicable taxes will be applied to all transactions as required.

Registration Policy. This registration policy is not applicable to online registrations.
For all WSET courses:

    • If a registration is made more than 30 days prior to the start date of a course, a non-refundable deposit of $100 will be processed in order to confirm your spot in the course. The remaining tuition and any other applicable fees will be processed at 30 days prior to the start date of the course.
    • If a registration is made within 30 days prior to the start date of a course, the tuition and any other applicable fees will be processed in full.
    • Due to the administration policies of WSET, registrations 14 days prior to the start date of a course may not be processed. Please contact the BC Wine School to confirm.

For all other programs:

    • Fees will be processed in full at the time of registration.
    • Your spot is confirmed once payment is received.

Cancellation/Refund Policy –Applicable to class registrations made at the office only.
For all WSET courses:

    • If a registration is cancelled more than 30 days prior to the start date of a course, the $100 registration deposit is surrendered and the remaining tuition and any other applicable fees will not be processed. The option to defer and apply the deposit towards another date/program is possible only after consultation with the BC Wine School by phone or email.
    • If a registration is cancelled within 30 days prior to the start date of a course, the tuition is 100% non-refundable. The option to defer and apply the tuition towards another date/program is possible only after consultation with the BC Wine School by phone or email.
    • Any deferments must be made two weeks prior to the start date of your course. Deferment requests made after this time will not be accepted. Deferments must occur within a 6 month window from the start date of the course you initially registered for.

For all other programs:

    • Please note that all fees are 100% non-refundable.
    • Any recurring fees will not be processed upon consultation with the BC Wine School by phone or email.
    • If you are unable to attend a program, you may send someone else in your place.

The BC Wine School reserves the right to cancel a course, tasting seminar or special event due to insufficient registration or unforeseen circumstances. In such an event, registrants will be notified and can transfer the registration to another date or to another person. There will be no refunds.

THE LEGAL STUFF (DISCLAIMER)

The BC Wine School, its directors, employees, partners, venues and agents are hereby released from all responsibility for any injury, loss, or damages sustained by its participants and their property while on the premises during its programs and events or as a result of its programs and events.

The programs and events offered by the BC Wine School involve the tasting of wine. Participants are required to spit and the consumption of alcohol is prohibited. Participants must be aware of the dangers of consuming alcohol, particularly the dangers of drinking and driving, and accept full responsibility in the event that they are affected by any alcohol that they may have chosen to consume.
